Take Me Back Home - Kane's River

In my mind I can see,
The fence post lean
And the hills roll on forever
I said goodbye to the Big Sky,
Hello to the city lights,
Now what I wouldn't give
If I could go back
Oh, the big city fooled me
With her charms,
Now she holds me with
Her steel and concrete arms
I left my home, far away,
But it will never leave me

From up here on this highrise,
I began to realize it's lonely
On this ladder that I've climbed
Looking down on this rat race,
I can hardly keep the pace,
Lately I've been dreaming of my home
And how the wind gently whispers
Through the trees, that old barn is covered
In autumn leaves
I left my home, far away,
But it will never leave me

Time has a way of making me see
The things I once took for granted
Are what matter most to me
When you find yourself alone,
You can see what is lost
This world's in such a hurry,
All the anger, fear and worry
Lord, take me back home

Mama called me today,
Sends her love my way,
Nothing ever changes in that town
And daddy's looking for that gear,
Still working on the old John Deere,
Seems it's been broken down for years
I remember holidays at home,
But I've spent the last
Four Christmases alone
I left my family, far away,
But they will never leave me

Time has a way of making me see
The things I once took for granted
Are what matter most to me
When you find yourself alone,
You can see what is lost
This world's in such a hurry,
All the anger, fear and worry
Lord take me back home

This world's in such a hurry,
All the anger, fear and worry
Lord, take me back home
